ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage police say a bicyclist is seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night.

APD says around 10:51 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of W 36th Avenue and C Street in regards to a bicyclist versus vehicle collision.

Police say three people, two on foot and one on the bike, were crossing the street against the red light when the crash happened. The two people on foot were not hurt.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police say no one has been cited or charged at this time. APD adds the driver stayed on the scene and was cooperative with police.

Early Thursday morning APD opened all lanes in the area.

The investigation is underway.
