ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - UPDATE, 12:40 p.m.: The Anchorage Police Department has arrested 33-year-old Adam Fleischman after a fatal shooting early Sunday.

Fleischman faces multiple charges, police said, after a woman in his residence was shot in the upper body following a domestic dispute.

APD said Fleischman remained on the scene after the incident and was eventually taken into custody. Fleischman faces several charges, including murder in the first and second degrees.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Anchorage Police Department is investigating a homicide on the 5900 block of East 6th Ave., according to a NIXLE sent out by APD early Sunday morning.

In the release, police said they responded to a home on Saturday, January 2, around 11:30 p.m. in reference to a report of a shooting.

Once officers arrived, they found a woman inside a residence with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was declared dead at the scene.

One person has been taken to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives, according to APD, but the homicide is believed to be an isolated incident.

Police also said that there are no outstanding suspects and no current road closures due to the investigation.
