ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - According to wildlife troopers, a moose in Wasilla got tangled up in a rope swing this weekend near Destiny Circle

After about an hour and a half, and trying multiple methods of rescuing the animal, troopers said they were able to free the moose.

Neither the moose nor any officers were injured, but AST said they want to use this as a reminder to call a non-emergency line if you see a tangled animal that needs help.

Troopers also said in a dispatch that animals can get stuck in things like swings, holiday lights, hoses, fences and similar items.

The MATCOM Dispatch non-emergency number is (907) 352-5401.

correction: This story has been updated after a previous version misstated the location of the rescue and gave an incorrect non-emergency number.
