ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Two juveniles were arrested Sunday following a robbery early that morning at the Tesoro near Boniface Parkway and Camelot Drive.

According to the Anchorage Police Department, two male juveniles stole items from the gas station and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say one of the juveniles had a handgun. APD says no one was hurt during the robbery.

After taking the items and money, the two ran from the scene and headed toward 4th Avenue when officers saw them.

APD said they set up a perimeter and the two suspects then took off in different directions. One of the robbers refused to stop when ordered by officers, according to APD, that’s when K9 Hank was deployed. The juvenile was taken into custody after K9 Hank made contact with the suspect. The juvenile was medically cleared for the dog bite at a hospital and then was taken in for questioning.

The other was taken into custody without incident.

After being questioned by detectives, both suspects were taken to the McLaughlin Youth Center, according to APD. Charges for both were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
