ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Anchorage Police Department has released more information on a deadly crash that closed northbound lanes of Minnesota Drive between Spenard Road and W 35th Avenue for a period of time Friday.

Police say the collision is between a vehicle and a pedestrian and occurred Friday evening around 7:26 p.m.

Police identified the person as 25-year-old Angyla N. Green.

APD says Green and another person were crossing the street causing drivers to be forced to slow down quickly to avoid them. That’s when police say a driver of a 2007 silver Ford Explorer hit Green. APD says officers began life-saving measures on Green until medics arrived shortly thereafter and declared Green deceased.

Police say no charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
