ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers said a Stebbins man arrested last week for an alleged assault escaped jail the same day and was later arrested again.

Troopers posted an online dispatch Thursday saying Daniel Pete, 36, was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree domestic violence assault, violating conditions of release and second-degree escape.

Pete was arrested on March 25 after troopers received a report about the assault around 5 p.m. He was taken to the Stebbins jail, but later escaped.

Troopers traveled back to Stebbins and managed to arrest Pete again. He was then sent to the Anvil Mountain Correctional Center.
