Weather Lab: Ocean View Elementary students learn about hurricanes

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Meteorologist Melissa Frey takes us to Ocean View Elementary School in Anchorage where the third graders are expert zoomers and they’re quickly becoming expert weather forecasters as well.

Melissa got to share with them how green screens work and show them why and how the wind blows. And in this week’s Weather Lab question of the week, the students want to know why hurricanes don’t happen in Alaska. Check out the video above for the answer.
