APD searching for person of interest in investigation into who placed swastika stickers on Anchorage buildings
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Anchorage Police Department is asking for the public’s help looking for the person or people who placed swastika stickers on two buildings in Anchorage, including the Alaska Jewish Museum.
APD said in a community alert last week that the stickers were placed on the entrance to Mad Myrna’s in downtown Anchorage and at the main entrance to the Alaska Jewish Museum. Police said the stickers were white with a black swastika in the middle, and include the words “we are everywhere” at the top and bottom.
On Thursday, APD released three images of a person of interest in the investigation. The person was seen near both locations between midnight and 4 a.m. on May 25 — the day the reports of the stickers were made.
Police are working with the FBI in the investigation. Anyone with information about the person of interest is being asked to call dispatch at 311.
“There is no place for hate in our community,” wrote APD in the alert.
