Injured hiker rescued from Mount Baldy over the weekend

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - An injured hiker was rescued from the trail on Mount Baldy in Eagle River over the weekend.

Alaska State Troopers got word of the situation just before 3 p.m. Sunday, according to an online dispatch posted Monday morning.

Good Samaritans on the trail helped carry the hiker, a 55-year-old woman from Wasilla, to a helicopter that responded to the scene.

The hiker was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the dispatch.
