Wasilla man arrested, accused of sexually abusing young child
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A 67-year-old man from Wasilla has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing a 4-year-old child.
Alaska State Troopers based in the Mat-Su received a 911 call about the abuse just before 10 p.m. on Friday, according to an online dispatch posted Monday morning.
The abuse was reported to have happened not long before the 911 call.
Investigators with the trooper’s child abuse investigation unit responded, interviewed the child and conducted an investigation.
Robert Hawes was arrested for three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and taken to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility in Palmer, without bail until arraignment, according to the dispatch.
The investigation is ongoing.
