ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Both lanes of the Seward Highway are back open at mile 98 due to a collision, according to an alert from Anchorage Police Department.

According to Anchorage police, a driver headed northbound on the Seward Highway lost control of the sedan they were driving and struck a truck that was in a southbound lane.

One female passenger from the sedan was taken to an area hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. The adult driver of the sedan and two juvenile passengers were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck, who was the only occupant, was not injured.

According to police, the southbound lane was closed while an investigation was conducted by Anchorage Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit.

Correction: Initial reports on this incident indicated the location was near mile 93, not mile 98. Anchorage police later corrected the error.
