Jay joined the Alaska's News Source digital team in March 2021 as a digital reporter and producer. Before joining the ANS family, he worked as a general assignment reporter and photographer at the Times-Georgian in Carrollton, Georgia. Prior to his role at the newspaper, Jay worked for a year as a photojournalist at News Link in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in digital media studies with an emphasis on broadcast journalism from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. In 2020, he won five Georgia Press Association awards, which helped the Times-Georgian win the General Excellence Award among newspapers its size in the state. And in 2021, he won nine Georgia Press Association awards to help the newspaper place second for the General Excellence Award in a higher division.
Jay was born and raised in New Jersey. He enjoys playing soccer, hiking, reading, and spending quality time with his wife and family.
