Cassandra’s family moved to Anchorage from Iowa in 2001. She graduated from South Anchorage High School in 2011 and attended the University of Alaska, where she studied English Literature and Political Science.

After college, Cassandra moved to Washington, D.C. in 2017 to work for one of Alaska’s senators on issues relating to energy, the environment, healthcare, education, and telecommunications.

After three years in D.C., Cassandra returned to Alaska and joined the Alaska's News Source team as an Associate Producer.
