Joe hails from the Seward Peninsula where he was born and raised in Nome, Alaska. Having a passion for video production, he went on to pursue a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Multimedia Studies at Fort Lewis College, graduating in 2022. During his time at Fort Lewis, Joe also interned with Rocky Mountain PBS where he discovered the value of helping others share their stories. It was then he decided he would pursue a career as a journalist.
After his time in college in Durango, Colorado, Joe realized he wanted to return to Alaska and joined the team at Alaska's News Source as a Multimedia Journalist in December 2022, so he could help share the unique stories around his home state as well as return to the lifestyle he loves.
