Sean says he has always had a strong interest in journalism. While in college, he worked as an editorial assistant at "The Australian Financial Review."
After graduating, Sean worked as a writer for a comedy news show on Australian television for three years.
A love for the outdoors led him to Alaska and a plan to spend the summer exploring. That summer has now extended to five years and counting.
For two of those years, Sean lived in Willow, volunteering at a state park, working as a substitute teacher, serving as a leader at the Youth Conservation Corps in Talkeetna and even as a dog handler over two winters. Sean learned how to mush, and even helped train a puppy team for the 2017 Iditarod, a chance to spend countless hours on the back of a dog sled traveling the Alaskan wilderness.
Sean was hired by KTUU in 2017, first as a newscast producer before taking on the role of a full-time, general assignment reporter and multimedia journalist.
In his free time, Sean loves to hike, fish and cross country ski.
He is proud to be part of a great news team at KTUU, helping to tell Alaska’s story.
