Kim Daehnke has been working in broadcasting in Alaska since 1982, when KTUU News was located in the basement of the Fourth Avenue Theater building. In his subsequent years in public broadcasting, a notable assignment was Emmy-winning breaking news coverage of the Exxon Valdez disaster for the PBS News Hour. After returning to KTUU, Kim produced videos for various state agencies and Alaska Native organizations on topics ranging from substance abuse to managing wildlife populations. Having travelled extensively throughout rural communities in Alaska, Kim enjoys meeting people from the many different cultures that make up this state.
