A moose walked into the lobby of Wise Physical Therapy in Anchorage Monday for a few minutes of warmth and to graze on some fresh greens. The office is on the campus of Alaska Regional Hospital.
Hospital spokesperson Kjerstin Lastufka says the moose gained entry to the building after an automatic door got stuck open because of the cold.
Lastufka says that the greenery is visible from the outside, which may have enticed the moose to come inside.
"She was just going about her business, having a morning snack," Stephanie Hupton, who works in Regional, told Channel 2.
Hupton heard from a patient that there was a moose in the lobby, where she had her close encounter with nature.
The moose grazed inside for around 10 minutes before leaving on its own accord, according to Lastufka.
Hupton says the moose — who some said appears to be pregnant — bumped its nose on the way out, and was still roaming the parking lot as of about 4 p.m. Monday.
