A man initially sought as a "person of interest," and later upgraded to suspect, in the killing of 31-year-old Brittney Sparks, has been arrested.
Clint Registe, 36, was taken into custody "without incident," the Anchorage Police Department said in a community message. Registe was spotted walking alone, APD reported, and arrested at 6 p.m. on September 11.
Registe was wanted by police after Brittney Sparks was found shot to death inside a Mountain View apartment on July 20.
Initially, her death was thought to be suspicious and not related to an accident. Registe was thought to have been in the area, and was later named the suspect in the homicide investigation.
He will be questioned by police and then taken to the Anchorage Jail.
