Anchorage Police have identified the victim in a Turnagain shooting death as 42-year-old Brian F. Wetmore.
Wetmore's family has been notified.
APD says the circumstances leading to the shooting are still under investigation.
Anchorage police are investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting in Spenard.
Shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday, Anchorage Police received a report that a man had been shot. Officers responded to a residence on the 3000-block of Wendy’s Way - near Earthquake Park in Anchorage - and found the man inside the home with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was declared deceased a short time later.
APD said in an emailed Nixle release that its Crime Scene Team is "responding to the residence to process the scene."
Officials said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that officers have made contact with everyone involved, though the circumstances under which the man was shot are still being figured out.
