Airline News: New direct flights from Anchorage to Las Vegas and Bellingham starting this month
It’s the first of May and in a couple weeks, Alaskan travelers will have more options to get to their summer destinations.
The ultra-low-cost airline Sun Country is starting a direct Anchorage to Las Vegas flight on Friday, May 17. The direct flight will run through the summer, between McCarran to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
It will operate twice weekly, with round trips on Saturday and Wednesday, and expand to 4 times per week on June 5, with round trips also offered on Thursday and Sunday.
One-way fares start at $98. A personal item is free, and a carry-on bag can be purchased before-hand for $30, and $40 at the airport, and a first checked bag for the same price.
On May 22, another low-cost airline, Allegiant, will begin two weekly round trip flights to Bellingham, Washington. The flight will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Flights are available on their website for as low as $57 one-way. Carry-on and checked baggage fees range from $30 to $50 each.
