Alabama Huntsville to leave WCHA, UAA & UAF only schools remaining

The future of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association continues to be a question mark as the University of Alabama Huntsville submitted a withdrawal letter to WCHA, first reported by

In June, seven of the ten teams in the

petitioned to find a new Division I men's hockey conference.

With eight schools making moves to leave the conference where does that leave the University of Alaska Anchorage and the University of Alaska Fairbanks? According to WCHA spokesperson Todd Bell, Huntsville and both Alaska schools have been in discussions regarding all options to continue the WCHA beyond the 2020-21 season.
