One man from a small Alaskan village is in custody after authorities say he attacked another man with a crowbar, hitting him several times in a dispute.
Troopers in Aniak got a call from Chuathbaluk, a village near Aniak on the Kuskokwim River, from a retired health aide who told them she was providing medical treatment to a man who had been savagely beaten with a crowbar.
According to the investigation, Bryan Soosuk, 54, of Chuathbaluk, reported "serious injuries" following the attack.
When troopers arrived in the village, they located Carl Nesbit, 58, who had been identified by Soosuk as the man who had attacked him. Per the investigation, troopers say "Carl picked up a [crowbar] and started hitting Bryan with it several times."
For this, Nesbit was arrested for attempted murder and assault, both in the first degree. He was taken to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
