UPDATE: Fairbanks man arrested for killing woman, stealing her car
Friday after 8 a.m., authorities arrested Marsh after a week-long manhunt.
According to the Alaska State Troopers, Marsh was spotted by an AST officer patrolling near Badger and Hartzog. Marsh was seen walking, and the trooper contacted him, asking his name.
AST said he initially gave a false name, but were able to positively identify him while he was in custody. Further work is being done on the investigation, troopers said in the Friday dispatch report.
An Alaska woman was found dead after being reportedly strangled, and now authorities are searching for the man who they believe is responsible for killing her.
Just before 1 a.m. on Monday, Alaska State Troopers took a report of a dead body at a residence on Yankovitch Road in Fairbanks.
Inside, authorities found 69-year-old Trisha Pearson of Fairbanks, reportedly strangled to death after being beaten.
Investigators say Patrick Marsh, age 25, reportedly killed Pearson, and stole her Jeep Cherokee from the home. That Jeep was later located abandoned in the area of Hamilton Acres.
Now, an arrest warrant has been issued for Marsh for Murder in the First Degree. AST is requesting assistance from the public in locating Marsh. If anyone knows of his whereabouts, please contact AST at 907-451-5100.
Marsh has a long history on Court View and in 2014 took a plea deal for 5 years for an armed robbery.
He has been arrested 3 times since being released. On April 23rd of this year, he was arrested for criminal mischief, violation of condition of release, and reckless endangerment.
