Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman... the list of icons goes on and on. This month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans- Black History Month.

It happens every year during February, but each year Black History Month has a renewed message and focus for our times, from historic accomplishments to day to day leadership.

Channel 2's Maria Downey spoke with Celeste Hodge Growden, the Black History Month Organizer and the President and CEO of Alaska Black Caucus.
