Two suspects are in custody for Sunday's crime spree on the hillside. But only one showed up for arraignment the day after.

28 year-old Dante Delosantos Padilla was formally charged Monday with multiple crimes including assault, theft, and failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer.

His alleged accomplice, 29 year-old Austin John Lyle Carroll did not appear in court due to an undisclosed medical issue. He is set to be arraigned Tuesday.

Anchorage police say it started shortly before 9:00 a.m. Sunday with a report of a home burglary on Slalom Drive.

Other reports followed about car thefts and vandalism along with shots fired.

According to court documents one of the thefts involved guns sitting in a police officer's car parked in his driveway. The documents did not say whether the car was locked but did state the suspects shot off the locks taking a rifle and shotgun. Police say the weapons were later found in the suspect's truck.

During the police pursuit court documents say one of the suspects fired at police. The men then fled on foot. Both suspects were arrested when they walked into the Hilltop Ski Area Chalet.

Carroll is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday while Padilla is set for a pre-indictment hearing at 2:00 the same day.
