Anchorage woman arrested for alleged sexual assault of 9-year-old girl

Law enforcement say they have arrested a woman in her 50's for allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in the early hours of Jan 1.
In a Soldotna home just before 4:30 a.m. on New Years Day, Alaska State Troopers say Laura Kroto, 54, of Anchorage, allegedly "had sexual contact" with the girl that morning.
Extra assistance in the investigation was provided by the Soldotna major crimes unit, troopers say. Kroto was later arrested for two charges of sexual abuse of a minor.
Troopers say that they believe alcohol to have been involved in the assault in some way. Kroto was remanded to the Wildwood pretrial facility.
