Just two races into the World Cup season and Sadie Bjornsen made her second trip to the podium taking 3rd place in the classic sprint Saturday in Lillehammer, Norway.

“Today was another really awesome day of ski racing,” said Bjornsen after the race. “I tried to keep the momentum and confidence going, and see what I could do today.”

With these finishes the 28-year-old has qualified for the 2018 U.S. Olympic Cross-Country Skiing Team. She hopes her recent success is a sign of what’s to come.

“With the classic sprint being an Olympic event in a few months, it feels good to get some confidence in some of the changes I have made this summer,” said Bjornsen.

Fellow APU skier, Rosie Brennan, took 33rd place, while Kikkan Randall took 42nd.

In the men's competition, Sadie’s Brother, Erik Bjornsen, was the top American taking 35th place and missed qualifying by 1.06 seconds. Anchorage’s Scott Patterson was 74th for the U.S. Ski Team.
