Back to School: School Start Dates

School is just around the corner here in Alaska, but not all districts share the same start date. Here's a list of the larger districts in the state.

Anchorage School District - August 20

Fairbanks North Star Borough - August 16

Juneau Borough - August 20

Kenai Peninsula Borough - August 21

Mat Su Borough - August 16

ASD Superintendent Dr. Deena Bishop tells KTUU that the educators are excited and ready. Bishop says, "We consider every single one of them, all 48,000 our babies and we want them to have the best year yet."
