Two people in Bethel lost their lives Saturday morning in a house fire, Bethel Police Department said in a statement today.
The BPD and the Bethel Fire Department arrived at the blaze near Trailer Court in Bethel just after 1 A.M. to find the home on fire.
They were able to extinguish the flames, however while responders inspected the damage, they discovered two people didn’t make it out in time.
Those dead have been identified as Charity Alexie, 41, and Hans Alexie, 37, both from Bethel.
Police have notified the victim’s families, and so far are saying that following the initial investigation, they do not suspect any foul play in their death.
The exact cause of death has not yet been pinpointed by authorities, but the victims’ remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiners’ Office for an official autopsy.
BPD says the exact cause of the fire is also still being investigated.
This is a developing story and will be updated as the investigation progresses.
