Body found along remote Alaska river, officials now try to identify who died
A body has been found along a remote river in southwest Alaska, and now authorities are trying to identify who the person was.
According to the Alaska State Troopers, human remains were found Sunday near Tuntutuliak. The body was reportedly on the Kuskokwim River just north of the Tuntutuliak River.
The remains were turned over to the state medical examiner's office, who will attempt a positive identification.
The body was reported initially to troopers in Bethel on Sunday. Officers responded the following day to collect the remains.
