A body was discovered just after 9:30 a.m. Monday morning outside of the Pizza Hut at the intersection of Benson and A Street.

Anchorage police have confirmed that the deceased was male, however they have not yet released his identity. APD spokesperson Renee Oistad says they are "working on it" via email, also saying that the man's next of kin have not yet been notified.

APD says they do not believe the body died under suspicious circumstances, however Oistad says at this point, the cause of death is "unknown."

His body was found in the high visibility area by Anchorage Safety Patrol (ASP), the organization previously known as CSP.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information is learned.
