Body found partially submerged in the Susitna River in Willow

Alaska State Troopers say the body of

was found partially submerged in the Susitna River about 1 mile upstream of Deshka Landing on July 9th.

AST says the state medical examiner confirmed the body is that of Hartlage, from Louisville, Kentucky.

On June 27th, AST got reports from a family member that Hartlage was missing near Willow Creek State Recreational Area in Willow.

The family member said he didn’t return from fly fishing on Willow Creek at the Susitna River.

Troopers said at the time, two boat crews and an RCC helicopter crew searched from the north on Susitna River from Deshka Landing and east along Willow Creek.

They found nothing.

AST says next of kin was notified.
