(photos courtesy Ketchikan Daily News) It might have been smooth sailing during their voyage, but it was a rough arrival for cruise ship passengers in Ketchikan on Friday.

The Coast Guard says it is investigating the collision of the cruise ship Celebrity Infinity with a pier in Ketchikan.

In a press release Friday night, the Coast Guard said investigators from Marine Safety Detachment Ketchikan were called to the scene after the Celebrity Infinity rammed into the #3 berth at the Ketchikan cruise ship dock.

Coast Guard officials in the Juneau command center were alerted of the accident by the ship's pilot Friday afternoon.

The Coast Guard said no injuries or pollution were reported.

"The Coast Guard is grateful no one was injured as a result of this accident," said Lt. Dianna Robinson, command duty officer at Sector Juneau. "Our personnel are working to determine the cause of this accident and will work with local partners to ensure the continued safety of those using the cruise ship docks."

The Coast guard says weather on scene was reported to be gusting at 45-miles per hour.
