If you are planning to drive along the Sterling Highway Thursday, something to look out for.
Alaska State Troopers warn there will be significant delays along the highway Thursday at milepost 62.5 and 58 from 10 am to 3 pm.
Homer Electric Association along with the Swan Lake Fire management team and the Department of Transportation are starting to drop high-voltage power lines that cross the highway.
This is being done to mitigate the threat of these lines sagging and falling as a result of fire damage.
