As the Alaska Incident Management Team uses aerial support to continue fighting the Swan Lake Fire, law enforcement officials are asking drivers to avoid a stretch of the Sterling Highway.
The Anchorage Police Department says drivers can expect significant delays on the Sterling Highway for the next 24 hours between Milepost 58 and Milepost 75.5. The delays also include other roadways connected to the Sterling Highway.
Several campgrounds are also affected. Watson Lake Campground, Peterson Lake Campground, Seven Lakes Trail, Skyline Trail, and Jean Lake Campground are all closed off to the public until further notice.
