There are many great ski areas around the world with names like Vail, Jackson Hole, and Whistler. But there's one right here in Alaska that needs a name and you can be part of that process.
Hatcher Alpine Xperience, or "HAX" for short, is asking the public to help name a proposed alpine ski area in Hatcher Pass.
The ski area is located at mile 10.6 of North Palmer-Fishhook Road. According to a press release, The Mat-Su Health Foundation recently awarded HAX $500,000 to buy a triple chairlift and fund a part-time executive director.
Submissions will be taken until December 17, with a decision for the winning name to be made in late January.
