Musher Hugh Neff banned for one year from Two Rivers Dog Mushers Association races

Following suit with the biggest races in mushing, the Two Rivers Dog Mushers Association announced on Facebook Wednesday night that Hugh Neff is banned from participating in the 2018-2019 race season.

The mushing association voted to honor the censure from both the Yukon Quest and Iditarod. TRMDA's flagship race is the Two Rivers 200.

Neff was banned from the 2018-19 Yukon Quest after his dog Boppy died on the trail during the 2017-18 race. The official cause of death was aspiration pneumonia, but Quest race officials say a necropsy of the dog raised health concerns.

The mushing association also mentioned that Neff's wife Olivia will be able to race during the 2018-19 season.
