Hydaburg man arrested for burglary after leaving shoes, shirt and ATM card at scene
A Hydaburg man was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, and assault after allegedly breaking into an occupied home, leaving behind his shoes, shirt and debit card after being chased away, and resisting arrest when Troopers caught up with him Wednesday.
According to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch, Troopers in Prince of Wales were called to Hydaburg Wednesday after a resident reported being awoken by an intruder in her bedroom.
When the woman's boyfriend appeared, the suspect allegedly grabbed a pair of shoes belonging to the boyfriend and fled, leaving behind his own shoes, shirt, and ATM debit card.
AST says that based on the complainants knowledge of the intruder's identity, and the abandoned debit card, Troopers identified the suspect as William Peele, 20, of Hydaburg.
When Troopers attempted to arrest Peele, he allegedly resisted with force.
Peele was eventually subdued and taken to the Craig Jail.
