Iditarod joins newly formed global racing series
The Iditarod announced Friday it will join Qrill Pet Arctic World Series Along with the last great race the 2020 series will include: John Beargrease in Minnesota, Femundlopet in Norway, and Volga Quest in Russia.
The series' corporate backer Aker Biomarine brand name pet nutrition is Qrill Pet, and QPAWS is a non-profit sports series through the company.
The series is based on a joint point system, and television production according to a press release Friday.
“We are proud to be a part of QPAWS, along with the Femundlopet, Volga Quest and John Beargrease,” said Iditarod CEO Rob Urbach in a press release Friday. “With the investments in digital visualization technology and innovative television production, we have great confidence that we will be showcasing our sport in a more experiential and compelling way.”
