Juneau jewel thief escapes with a haul estimated to be over $100,000
Authorities in Juneau are still looking for an individual they say "forcibly removed" the door to a business, slipped inside, and "very quickly" stole jewelry with a value estimated to be over $100,000.
Police say they first got the alert in the early morning hours on May 7. The business, which has not yet been identified other than that it is on the 280 block of South Franklin Street, had its alarm triggered just before 5 a.m.
In a statement made by the Juneau Police Department, authorities are asking the public for help in catching this burglar. The statement says that people who cal in with tips leading to an arrest in this incident "may be eligible for a reward."
