Mat-Su fires prompt school closures

The Mat-Su Borough School District is announcing school closures in fire affected areas to keep traffic from impeding firefighting efforts.

So far, the following school will be closed on Monday:

- Talkeetna Elementary

- Willow Elementary

- Trapper Creek Elementary

- Su Valley Junior and Senior High Schools

Pre-K and Kindergarten roll-in appointments are also cancelled.

Closures will be on a day to day basis. Parents are asked to check the
