'Mega' Cruise ships bring thousands of passengers and some controversy
The first two "mega" cruise ships have docked in Juneau this summer, bringing with them thousands of passengers and some controversy.
The "mega" ships are part of a trend that's sending more tourists to Alaska, carrying twice as many passengers on one ship as previous cruises. The ships are capable of carrying up to 5,700 people.
Channel 2's Mike Ross spoke with KTOO reporter Adelyn Baxter, who has been observing and monitoring this situation in Juneau.
