It's a commonly used procedure to help fight the signs of aging, but it can have other uses too.
Numbers by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show the number of men who use a cosmetic procedure where a needle injects Botox into their skin has been steadily increasing over the years.
The trend in men using the product also got the catchy nickname "Bro-tox."
Nathan Oxner has been getting Botox injections at Alaska Body Aesthetics for the past four years.
"I'm very expressive with my face and so I still wanted to have expression, but I didn't like the lines that were starting to form from squinting cause I also suffer from glare, bright light," Oxner said.
In the past two years, the lead medical aesthetician, Natasha Lindow, said the business has seen a 35 percent increase in men coming for services like Botox, Kybella and therapy treatments.
"Men have the same concerns as women do, getting older, they want to look good, they want to feel good, feeling good goes along with feeling healthy about yourself," Lindow said.
Oxner said he's noticed some changes since he began the injections.
"I have a scar on my forehead between my eyes you hardly notice anymore, the furrows with the expression, also isn't as deep as it used to be and a lot of the crow's feet, the wrinkling around the eyes aren't as deep as they used to be," said Oxner.
The injections aren't for everyone, though and can have some side effects including: eyelid drooping, swelling, dry mouth, discomfort or pain at the injection site, headache, blurred or decreased eyesight, allergic reactions among others.
Botox can also be used to treat some conditions including excessive sweating, migraines and muscular disorders.
The cost for Botox varies depending on the individual, where you have the procedure, how often and the quantity of the injections.
Anyone looking to do Botox should consult with their doctor about any medical conditions beforehand.
