Allie Ostrander continues to own 2017.
Today the Mountain West athletic conference named Ostrander the 2016-17 female athlete of the year, making her the first freshman to do so.
This comes not even a month after winning the Mt. Marathon in her off season, but it’s what the Kenai Central graduate did during the track season that won her this award.
In the Mountain West Conference Championships Ostrander won the 10,000-meter title for the Boise State Bronco’s, and then went on to win the 3,000-meter steeplechase national title with a time of 09:41:31.
A pretty impressive list of accomplishments for an athlete who isn’t even 21-years-old.
