Traffic on the Seward Highway was backed up for several hours overnight after a woman was struck by a semi between Milepost 92 and 94. Police received the report at 11:50 p.m. Monday. Girdwood officers with the patrol division were the first to respond, finding a woman lying on the side of the road.

According to APD, investigating officers found that a 2017 semi-truck struck the pedestrian in the southbound lane. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.

No charges or arrests have been made at this time.
