A Wasilla man was arrested Wednesday night after crashing his car into two stopped vehicles while fleeing from Alaska State Troopers.

According to a dispatch posted online, 36-year-old William Ratcliff had an outstanding warrant for first degree eluding and reckless endangerment. At around 10:25 p.m., troopers saw him driving his 2001 Audi Sedan near the intersection of Church and Seldon Roads.

“Ratcliff failed to yield after AST attempted to conduct a traffic stop,” troopers wrote. “As Ratcliff approached the intersection of the Parks Highway and the Palmer-Wasilla Highway, he collided with two stopped vehicles as he attempted to drive between them.”

Ratcliff tried to run away after the crash but was apprehended and taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, troopers said. He was taken to the Mat-Su Pretrail Facility where he is being held on a no bail parole warrant.

Troopers say the investigation into this incident is continuing.
