U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski declined to attend KTUU's Senate Debate on Sunday evening, and the Republican's leading opponents used the hour long event to pick apart her record from many directions.

The debate was broadcast statewide and will be re-broadcast on NBC stations across Alaska in the coming days.

On one end of the stage, Democratic Party nominee Ray Metcalfe cast Murkowski as a member of a political elite that he sees as corrupt. On the other was Joe Miller, who won the GOP nomination in 2010 but lost the general election to Murkowski who won with an unprecedented write-in campaign. Miller is now the Libertarian Party nominee.

Margaret Stock is an Independent endorsed by some leading Democrats. She criticized Murkowski on a variety of fronts, including the incumbent's late decision to back away from the GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump.
