UPDATE: Authorities identify victim killed in Parks Hwy crash

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the person killed in the car wreck on the Parks Highway Tuesday.
Pat Buchanan, 71, of Wasilla, was identified by troopers Wednesday morning. Buchanan was in the Ford Explorer when it was reportedly rear-ended by the Pontiac driven by Murphy.
Alaska State Troopers say the fatal accident happened just after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday when the driver of a Red Pontiac G6 collided with a Ford Explorer, causing the SUV to roll and eject the driver. Emergency crews attempted life-saving efforts on the driver who was ejected.
The driver of the Pontiac, identified by Troopers as Wasilla resident Nancy Murphy, 48, was reportedly driving with a revoked driver's license and had a warrant for failure to appear on a DUI charge.
EMS crews pronounced the driver of the Ford dead at the scene.
A fatal accident near the intersection of the Parks Highway and Vine Road has seriously slowed traffic.
Ken Barkley, Fire Deputy Director with the Mat-Su Borough, says one person was killed and another had minor injuries.
A driver told Channel 2 that at least one vehicle was upside down, and another was blocked from view. The viewer also said there was dirt all over the northbound lanes, but the crash is in the southbound lane.
