Suspect in East Anchorage shooting taken into custody

UPDATE, 8:45 p.m.

The suspect has been taken into custody, according to Anchorage police.

Officials said in a release Thursday that Moses Crowe will be taken to APD to be questioned before being remanded at the Anchorage Jail.

UPDATE, 8:05 p.m.:

Police say they are looking for a suspect in an East Anchorage homicide.

Moses Crowe, 27, has brown hair and brown eyes, is about 6-foot-2-inches and 240 pounds, and is being sought by police.

If you have information regarding his whereabouts, police ask that you please dial 911.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Anchorage police say that they responded to a report of a shooting in East Anchorage and arrived to find an adult woman with life-threatening injuries.

Police say they got the call at 3:14 p.m. on Thursday. The woman had a gunshot wound on her upper body and was immediately taken to the hospital.

At 4:51 p.m., police sent out a notice to say the woman has died and that the case was now being investigated as a homicide.

So far, police say they have made no arrests and there is no suspect information to release at this time.

They also say they believe that this is an "isolated targeted event."

The Anchorage Police Department warns that there will be a heavy police presence in the area, around an apartment complex on the 200-block of McCarrey Street, as they investigate the scene. A K9 track has concluded.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police dispatch at 311.
