The ski area's popular tubing park was up and running Saturday for the first time this season.

General Manager, John Robinson-Wilson said new snow making equipment and help from mother nature allowed for the earliest season opener since it was introduced in 2011.

The attraction will only be available on weekends and some school holidays.

Tickets often sell out fast each week so the ski area recommends booking ahead of time.

Arctic Valley says the tubing park has become popular with Alaskans and visitors of all ages and skill levels.

"We have kids as young as three and people as old as 70 out here tubing all the time and everyone has fun, it's a great way to get your kids out the house during the winter with a nice family friendly activity," Robinson-Wilson said.
